ABOUT EAST LOTHIAN COMMUNITY PLANNING PARTNERSHIP

WHAT IS COMMUNITY PLANNING?

The two main priniciples for working in a community planning way are:

  • that people and communities are genuinely engaged in the decisions made on public services which affect them
  • that there is commitment from organisations to work together to continually improve the way services are delivered

This way of working should bring real improvements to the quality of people's lives.

OUR STATEMENT OF INTENT

"We will work in partnership to build an East Lothian where everyone has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life and which contributes to a fair and sustainable future for Scotland
and the wider world"

ABOUT EAST LOTHIAN COMMUNITY PLANNING PARTNERSHIP

About usThe partnership - ELCPP for short - is the lead organisation for community planning in East Lothian.  ELCPP is a broad based partnership of organisations from the public, voluntary, private and community sectors that come together to work in a community planning way. ELCPP draws in partnership groups for priority themes and local areas.

ELCPP is chaired by the Council Leader as East Lothian Council which has statutory responsibility to lead on Community Planning.

Partners have agreed a Statement of Intent for East Lothian, which we aim to achieve through Our Plan for the Future of East Lothian: Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) 2011-our overarching plan. We aim to achieve our shared priorities in this document by:

  • working together on activities agreed by our theme groups within outcome focused action plans
  • working together on the activities agreed in local area community plans
  • each organisation aligning its business plans to the SOA

This is the way community planning is organised in East Lothian - by themes and by ward area:
